About the seminar series
The seminar on Sacred Traditions and the Arts is a joint venture between the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at King鈥檚 and The 91自拍. It seeks to place researchers in dialogue who are working on any aspect of the sacred and visual culture. It is open to all scholars and students who have an interest in exploring the intersections of religion and art regardless of period, geography or tradition.
Ed Kr膷ma is Senior Lecturer in Art History at the University of East Anglia. His research focuses upon the history and theory of drawing after 1945 and his monograph,听Rauschenberg/Dante: Drawing a Modern Inferno, was published by Yale University Press in 2017.
Vittorio Montemaggi is Lecturer in Religion and the Arts in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at King鈥檚 College London. His research to date has focused primarily on intersections between theology and literature, and on the work of Dante and Primo Levi. His听Reading Dante鈥檚 Commedia as Theology: Divinity Realized in Human Encounter听was published by Oxford University Press in 2016.
There will be time for discussion and questions following the papers. The event will be concluded by an informal reception.
